Princess of Wales Reveals Cancer Diagnosis, Begins Chemotherapy

Princess of Wales Reveals Cancer Diagnosis, Begins Chemotherapy

In a video message released by Kensington Palace on Friday, Catherine, Princess of Wales, announced she has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

The 42-year-old royal described the news as a "huge shock" following a challenging few months. Doctors discovered the cancer during tests conducted after a successful abdominal surgery in January.

The Princess did not disclose the specific type of cancer or its stage but expressed her gratitude for public well-wishes. She also requested privacy for herself and her family as she completes treatment.

This news comes amidst heightened public interest following the Princess's absence from public engagements since late December. While Kensington Palace previously announced a planned surgery and recovery period, speculation swirled online.

The diagnosis marks another health concern for the Royal Family, following King Charles III's own cancer revelation last month.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak commended the Princess's "tremendous bravery" during this period of intense media scrutiny.
