Trends News: Team USA Squeaks by South Sudan in Dramatic Pre-Olympics Exhibition!

Team USA's quest for a fifth straight Olympic gold medal in men's basketball got off to a thrilling start on Saturday! In a nail-biter of a game played in London, Team USA edged out South Sudan 101-100.

A Comeback for the Ages!

Team USA found themselves trailing by a whopping 14 points at halftime. But the American squad showed their fighting spirit, clawing their way back into the game throughout the second half. With just eight seconds left on the clock, basketball legend LeBron James sank a clutch layup to seal the victory for Team USA.

South Sudan Makes a Statement

While Team USA ultimately emerged victorious, South Sudan's Carlik Jones stole the show with a phenomenal triple-double (15 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists). Jones almost spoiled the American's comeback with a potential game-winning shot, but it rimmed out with just seconds remaining.

Team USA's Olympic Journey

This close win against South Sudan serves as a valuable test for Team USA as they gear up for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The team will play one more exhibition game against Germany on Monday before heading to France.

What's Next?

Team USA will be placed in Group C for the Olympics, where they'll face off against Serbia, South Sudan (again!), and Puerto Rico. The knockout rounds will then take place in Paris, culminating in the gold medal game on August 10th.
